Jogyesan (Mt. 884m) is located in Suncheon, Jeonnam. It was designated as a provincial park in December 1979 and as a historical landmark and scenic spot No.8 in December 1998. Seonamsa (Temple) is on the east of the mountain and Songgwangsa (Temle) is on the west. Clear water is flowing down in a deep valley of the mountain. Mansubong (Peak) and Mohusan (Mt.) are surrounding the whole area of Songgwangsa (Temple) like a folding screen. Clear water in the valley of Seonamsa (Temple) joins Jukhakcheon (Stream) and then flows into Yisacheon (Stream). Wolchulbong (Peak), Janggunbong (Peak), Gitdaebong (Peak), irwolseok (Rock), etc are standing high in a row around Seonamsa (Temple). Tourists visit Songgwangsa (Temple) and Seonamsa (Temple) constantly throughout the year for their fame and there are many people for hiking.
Wherever you start ascending Jogyesan (Mt.), from either Songgwangsa (Temple) or Seonamsa (Temple), spending similar amounts of time will offer you a variety of trails to enjoy. As it is relatively gentle and not high, it is easy to ascend for 3 or 4 hours. Therefore it is suitable for couples' or families' outings. A simple bowl of steamed barley with organic lettuce makes up a dear remembrance at Gulmokjae (Ridge) under the summit.
